There are two kinds of construction methods of lead plate in radiation protection.
Generally, there are two methods for wall protection: one is direct protection of lead plate, the other is wall plastering with barium sulfate concrete or special protective coating. The second method is simple in construction, can absorb and scatter rays, and has low cost and good effect. But for the radiation source with strong penetrability or requiring higher shielding effect, lead plate is widely used for direct protection.
Lead plate wall protection is to wrap the wall with lead plate on the original wall, with the best protection effect, which must be operated by professional construction personnel. There are two common methods:
1. Lead plate is built into the wall, which is rarely used. It is mainly because the protection construction is carried out after the house is built, and the protection radiation is not considered when the house is built.
2. The keel frame shall be made on the original wall according to the size of the lead plate, and the lead plate shall be fixed on the wall. The joints shall be staggered to prevent radiation leakage. The lead plate used shall not have sand holes, uneven and other phenomena. The space left by keel installation of lead plate is about 2.5 times of the thickness of lead plate, which is convenient for welding the staggered position at the joint to be a little thicker; finally, after installation of lead plate, install a layer of decorative wall on the surface (multiple materials can be used for beauty).
